Plasma air purification is a means of killing all pathogens, viruses and bacteria that pass through the plasma curtain/field, just like walking through a constant waterfall, you will get wet!
4th Airborne is an air purification unit that blows air through a plasma curtain or field destroying all pathogens, viruses and bacteria that come into contact with the plasma field. There is no escape, all air is directed through the field.
Smaller than an AC unit hanging on the wall, 4th Airborne can be installed in any room, classroom, office, hospital wards, halls, front entries into malls. Can also be installed into existing ventilation ducting utilizing the ducting's air movement.
Plasma is the 4th state of matter, alongside solids, gas and liquid. It is a superheated matter which rips apart atoms at the electron level, destroying the host. Although superheated, the temperatures are localised normally within 1-2cms. Applying to an air purification unit does not dramatically increase the temperature of the air once passed through the field/curtain of plasma.
The unit is a small electrical appliance, about half the size of an AC unit on the wall. There is no need for any other unit, e.g. a compressor sitting outside for AC. There is no condensation or release of harmful gases. O8 is released in minor quantities 5-10ppb falling within the guidelines of acceptance of 50ppb (which is less than O8 water sold for health and sporting benefits).
We can expand on the unit, doubling up on fields with greater air volume passing through for larger rooms, school classes, etc.
Can also be placed into existing ducts in hospitals, etc.
Can also be used to purify water by adding cooling tubes of liquid nitrogen as the water creates friction.
Can also be used to cleanse blood of viruses and diseases.
There is no need for HEPA filters, which require frequent cleaning and/or replacement. Where they are used in classes, offices, etc., we use gauze on both exit and entry points to stop the bugs flying through. In the case of ducting for hospitals, etc, they can be placed after their own standard filtration but replacing the finer HEPA filters which exit into individual rooms. These units would utilize the existing fans in the ducting.
Can also be fitted with a remote sensor for remote control.
Potential markets
Post Covid, government departments around the world have exercised the necessity of air purification, especially schools and upgrades to hospitals, medical centers, etc.
We can also build smaller versions that will fit under a First Breath breathing apparatus in chemical and biohazard suits, essentially prolonging the time in a suit beyond HEPA filter cleansing and replacing.
The unit can also be used in factories where foodstuffs are prepared lowering the risk of airborne bacteria and viruses from entering the prepared foods.
Can also be used in laboratories to help sterilize the air from contaminating their tests, in return lowering their failure rates.
By passing blood through plasma, after removing proteins and platelets from the blood supply prior to passing through the plasma field, and then reintroduce post cleansing. (Current technologies exist removing proteins and platelets). This would be ideal for hospitals that specialize in bloodborne diseases and viruses.
Existing filtration and Plasma air purifiers
Current Plasma air purifiers work by emitting plasma arcs and hoping the pathogen with be attracted to the arcs and be destroyed on contact. There is a lot of room for pathogen escape, so not providing a full proof means of eliminating all. They also rely heavily on HEPA filters to help remove the pathogens.
The majority of air purifiers are filtered by way of HEPA requiring 2-4 filters decreasing in micron size. Unfortunately, replacement costs are high and so is the maintenance time. They are not as effective as existing "plasma arc" air purifiers, and not even close to our "plasma field" air purifier.
There are a number of smaller desktop filtered air purifiers that sell for $150-$300, but the average for room sized air purification is $800-$1,200. Some commercial units are upwards of $4,000+. Again, all require servicing and maintenance, clean or replace HEPA filters.
